Marketing Cheshire also awarded Davenports Tea Room with Tastes of Cheshire Award 2013. Davenports tea room has built its customer base on repeat business and recommendations, with customers travelling from far and wide, especially for our popular themed afternoon tea events such as our Victorian Christmas or Mad Hatters Tea Party. Situated on the A49, just 10 mins from junction 10, M56 we are only about 30 minutes from Chester, Liverpool or Manchester and less than 2 miles from Lewis Carroll's birthplace in Daresbury. The tea room is styled on a quaint old English Tea Room with antique lace table cloths and bone china tea services and is themed around Alice in Wonderland with hand-painted murals and memorabilia.
We serve over 30 speciality loose leaf tea and a wide range of artisan coffee, soft drinks, including delicious hot chocolate and ice cream milk shakes and we are fully licensed so can offer champagne, wine, locally brewed beer or cider with your meal.
Our own 1930's recipe homemade spelt scones are famous especially since we were invited to make over 15,000 of them at the prestigious Hankyu Department Store British Fair 2013 in Japan. NB. Unfortunately due to a Worldwide shortage of Spelt we will be using an alternative flour until the new crop in October.
Although you can come and join us for a piece of home-made cake and a drink at any time, our full Afternoon Tea is for special occasions or just meeting with friends or relatives. We serve a range of traditional Afternoon Teas served on the old fashioned china tiered cake stand, a choice of delicate sandwiches with the crusts cut off and a selection of locally made homemade delicious cakes and scones. The full Afternoon Teas should be booked at least 24hrs in advance, however please call us as we may be able to accommodate your booking with less notice.
If you are joining us for lunch we can offer you a range of delicious light lunches ranging from home-made soups, home-made Welsh Rarebit, locally made award winning pates, fabulous cheese platters to name but a few. We try to ensure that we can cater for special diets such as diabetic, gluten, wheat or dairy free and vegan, however we can not guarantee availability so it is best to call us in advance of your visit.
If you are joining us for breakfast we can offer you a range of delicious breakfasts such as great tasting bacon sandwiches, home produced free range scrambled eggs of toast with smoked salmon on a muffin, poached eggs on toast are just a few examples. On a Sunday morning we can also offer you a fantastic full English Breakfast all local and great tasting, but as it is cooked on an Aga, please call us at least 24hrs in advance.
Due to our location, we can have people arriving from a walk as we are situated within the Weaver Valley Regional Park; or cyclists as we have two cycle routes passing close to us, holidaymakers using the A49, boaters using the River Weaver or Trent & Mersey Canal and local people.

We will always do our best however we can staff and stock our products accordingly if we know you are coming.
The Queens Room and the Alice Room are available for private functions, business meetings or training sessions and comfortably seat 20 and 10 respectively, however this will depend on the configuration. It is in a great location with good access from the M56, River Weaver, Trent & Mersey Canal, Cycle Route 70 and 5, Weaver Valley Canoe Trail and the Aston Bridle Path.
